MADRIDFOTO will held its fifth edition from September, 19th to 22th, 2013, at Matadero Madrid. The fair will count with around 50 galleries, of which the 30 % will be national ones. We will have the presence of galleries of international renown, with visibility and path, emblematic galleries, settled in the panorama of both historical and contemporary photography. In this edition we will highlight the particularly important presence of American galleries.
The content of the fair proposals will be subject to undergo a selection Committee, composed by four international personalities from the world of photography: a Commissioner, a Museum director, a Gallery Director, a collector, and the artistic director of MADRIDFOTO.

We will invite to MADRIDFOTO national and international collectors, preparing for them a special activities and events programme.
Moreover, MADRIDFOTO 2013 wants to ensure the commitment of acquisition by institutions, by giving different awards:
4th Comunidad de Madrid Award for
young photographers (CAM-MADRIDFOTO)
2nd Photo Art Fairs Prize composed of a
jury of renowned international photographers
who will award this prize with the purpose of
starting a collection of contemporary
photography.
2nd Casa Mónico Prize this group of
catering that has a high quality philosophy,
wants to promote photography linked to the
world gastronomy.
A specialized Commissioner will be responsible for building a program of panel discussions, debates and conferences with important personalities from the world of photography.
As in previous editions, the spaces of Matadero will be designed by the Madrilenian architect Andrés Jaque. He will articulate Gallery spaces of 20, 30 and 40 m2, spaces for Magazines and Publishing houses of 4 to 10 m 2, and moreover,
presentation spaces for photography awards.
MADRIDFOTO 2012 counts on the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture, Comunidad de Madrid and the Madrid City Council, as well as companies interested in photography as they have been in previous editions brands as Hermes,Volvo or El Corte Inglés.
MADRIDFOTO is organized by Art Fairs, S.L., a private initiative of a group of collectors and entrepreneurs, whose head is Enrique de Polanco.
